Shipping policy
At The Pet Food Company, we take the delivery of our raw pet food seriously. To ensure your pet’s meal arrives in peak condition, we insure same day delivery with our products being carefully packaged to avoid transit damage and our raw petfood being shipped from frozen.
1. Local Delivery Rates (Christchurch)
We currently ship to residential and business addresses across Christchurch. Shipping costs are determined by your order value, location, and total weight.

Value-Based Shipping: We offer shipping on all orders. Orders under $40 in value incur a delivery fee of $15. Orders over $40 in value with a flat rate of $10. Orders over $100 will receive automatic free Christchurch Delivery

North Island: At this stage, we do not ship to the North Island.

We currently ship to Suburbs across North Canterbury, Selwyn, Mid and South Canterbury. Eligibility is able to be checked in FAQs, and our Zip Code Checker prior to Checkout.

North Canterbury & Selwyn
Delivery is charged at a flat rate of $17.50 per 20 kg. Orders are calculated in 20 kg parcels, so if your order exceeds 20 kg, it will be split into multiple parcels. For example, a 25 kg order will be charged as 2 parcels.
Mid & South Canterbury
Delivery is weight-based:
· Up to 20 kg: $20 flat fee
· 20.01 kg to 25 kg: $25
The maximum order weight for Mid & South Canterbury is 25 kg. For orders over 25 kg, please enquire via our contact form to arrange delivery options.
2(A). Dispatch & Delivery Schedule
Orders for outside of Christchurch are shipped on Wednesdays, with a 7:00am same-day cut-off. Any orders placed after 7:00am will be dispatched on the next scheduled shipping day. We ship direct from our Dyers Road store for all orders. Due to The Pet Food Company using third party couriers (AZAP and Oxford Couriers) exact timing on delivery after dispatch is not exact. If you order has not made it to you by 6pm on the day of delivery, please email admin@thepetfoodcompany.co.nz with your order confirmation and details.
Local delivery dates can be selected via the calendar on the product page prior to adding your product to cart. If no delivery date is chosen, our system will automatically allocate your order to the next available delivery date.
2. Dispatch & Delivery Schedule
Orders are shipped on Tuesdays and Fridays, with a 7:00am same-day cut-off. Any orders placed after 7:00am will be dispatched on the next scheduled shipping day. We ship direct from our Dyers Road store for all orders.
Local delivery dates can be selected via the calendar on the product page prior to adding your product to cart. If no delivery date is chosen, our system will automatically allocate your order to the next available delivery date.
4. Packaging & Perishability

Thawing: It is normal for some products to arrive slightly soft or partially thawed. As long as the meat is still "fridge cold" to the touch, and in original block form, it is safe to refreeze immediately.

Immediate Storage: You must transfer your order to the freezer as soon as it is delivered.
5. Authority to Leave (ATL)
By ordering, you give our couriers "Authority to Leave" the package at your door. Because the product is perishable, couriers will not take it back to the depot for redelivery.

We are not responsible for spoilage or theft once the package has been delivered to your property.
